Spiritually speaking, an Eclipse Cycle serves a key role, and that is triggering change and transformation.
Eclipses have a way of revealing old patterns, insecurities, limitations and even fears. When you become aware of these “lower vibrational energies” within and around you, you then have the power and opportunity to heal and transmute them so you can let them go.
In this sense an Eclipse Cycle is an ally on your transformation journey. They shine a spotlight on where you’re out of alignment, so you can transform and shift into greater harmony and coherence with Truth, and the highest possibilities for your life.
Illuminating your “stuff” however is not always fun and easy, and can be downright painful and challenging at times. This is why throughout history Eclipses have often been feared and even believed to have harmful spiritual side effects.
What Is An Eclipse Exactly ?
An Eclipse is an observable event that happens as a result of an alignment of the sun and moon, or another planet.
As NASA explains: “A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth blocks the light from the Sun so that the Earth’s shadow falls on the moon… Lunar eclipses happen at least twice a year, and can last for a few hours.”
And on the other hand…
“Solar eclipses happen once every 18 months and only last for a few minutes… Solar Eclipses happen when the moon lines up directly between the Sun and the Earth, so that the moon casts a shadow onto Earth.”

Eclipse Spiritual Meaning
Astrologically speaking, the sun represents the conscious mind. The sun is associated with life force energy, warmth, light and creativity. The moon, which reflects the light of the sun at night represents our emotions, and subconscious.
During a Solar Eclipse when the moon blocks out the light of the sun, our emotions and subconscious patterns can be deeply revealed. Rather than reveling in lower frequency emotional patterns that may arise, Solar eclipses present good opportunities to reflect, heal, and transmute lower frequency patterns in to habits and patterns that will serve. Solar Eclipses which happen during New Moons, reveal the “new beginning possibilities” in a supercharged way.
Lunar Eclipses happen during the Full Moon, and reveal where you need to let go, bring something to completion, or let something fall away. This can sometimes be abrupt like losing a job, or breaking up with a partner, but when you stay present and observe the changes that are being triggered within or around you, you can claim the opportunity to become aware of what you truly desire. Where have you been on track, and how can you now release the old energies to embrace this change to evolve, transform and grow?
In a way Eclipses are like cosmic catalysts that trigger endings and push you to take a step towards the new beginnings you may have been resisting.
If you’re open, willing, and allowing, Eclipse energy can be joyfully navigated with ease. Its only when you are in resistance that old patterns become painful as they begin to fall away and you hold on.

If you’re not sure what I mean when I say “stuff” … I’m talking about the accumulated blockages, limiting patterns, distorted and negative programming, fears, insecurities, doubts etc, that block you from maintaining a higher vibration of love peace and light.
You don’t have to transform your old patterns, and you don’t have to make the choice to serve love and higher frequencies within you. But if don’t… Then you suffer.
Eclipse energy pretty much presents the choice: “Transform the old energies that are no longer serving you, or bask in them to your own detriment.”
