Reports surfaced early Monday claiming that Heinz Field, home of the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers, would soon be rebranded as Acrisure Stadium.
The Steelers confirmed that news Monday afternoon. Per the team’s official release, Acrisure, an insurance brokerage firm out of Michigan, has a 15-year deal for the stadium. Financial terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.
The Steelers moved from Three Rivers Stadium to Heinz Field in 2001, and the Pittsburgh-based ketchup company previously held the venue’s naming rights for the past 21 years. It’s unclear why Heinz didn’t extend its contract with the Steelers.
